ECaM Instrumental Tutor (Sessional)
The Every Child a Musician Programme delivers instrumental music tuition to all Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7 children in Newham’s schools. We have some teaching sessions for children in Years 3 and 4 and Year 8. The majority of our teaching is in groups of one Tutor to four children. We also deliver “whole class teaching” models in a number of schools where a lesson is shared between several ECaM Tutors in secondary schools. It is a mass participation programme working in partnership with more than 73 schools in the East London borough. The children receive weekly instrumental music tuition, for a period of three years. The tuition is free to the child and their families and they are provided with a free musical instrument.
This role is a great opportunity to join a ground breaking programme as an instrumental tutor. You will deliver instrumental tuition sessions in Newham’s schools. We offer lessons in a variety of instruments and we now need to recruit Flute, Clarinet, Violin & Viola Instrumental tutors. This is part time work, and work offers to new Tutors will often start with a few hours per week plus the opportunity to cover lessons when other tutors cancel at short notice. As the year progresses other teaching sessions generally become available giving an opportunity for increased hours. Pay rate will be between £20 and £25 per hour, including holiday supplement, depending on qualification, experience and training. For an informal discussion about these roles please contact Rashvinder Dhaliwal, ECaM Liaison Officer on 0203 373 6847.
