- Coursework moderation of visiting secondary teachers
- Scratch Orchestra (Putting ourselves in the shoes of Students)
- Composing for diverse ensembles and the British Paraorchestra
- Venturers Academy & highly Autistic students
9.30 – 10.00 Registration and coffee
10.00 – 11.00 Session 1 – Split sessions:
- A) Primary/Prep: ‘minute of listening’ and Bristol Music Curriculum (Primary) led by Phil Castang, Head of the Bristol Music Service
- B) Senior: Coursework moderation of visiting secondary teachers and Bristol Music Curriculum (Secondary) – led by Jon Hall (Merchants’ Academy) and Ben England (Bristol Play Music)
11 – 11.20 Coffee
11.20 – 12.30 Session 2
Scratch Orchestra (Putting ourselves in the shoes of Students) – led by Roger Huckle (Lecturer at Bristol University and leader of the Bristol Ensemble)
12.30 – 1.30 Lunch
1.30 – 2.45 Session 3
Composing for diverse ensembles and the British Paraorchestra led by Lloyd Coleman and/or Steph West
2.45 – 3.30 Session 4 (this will include a short walk)
A tour of the new Venturers Academy to see how sound and music is being used to enliven the education of highly Autistic students. Led by Tristan Williams (Principal of the Venturers Academy)
Cost: £60 for MMA members and £75 for non-members.
Any staff at the host school may attend for free.
Hubs may send up to three delegates for free.
